Biography

The Ancient Infinity Orchestra, an English collective, has gained recognition for its richly textured approach to modal and spiritual jazz. Their first album, River of Light, came out in 2023.

Leeds, England serves as the base for this 14-member group, which bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey established. Over time, he assembled a fluid roster of players that features saxophonist Mathew Cliffe alongside additional musicians. The ensemble cultivated its distinctive style by referencing the seminal recordings of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders while also looking to present-day figures such as Matthew Halsall and Alabaster DePlume. The year 2023 saw the issuance of their debut full-length effort, River of Light.
