Jumbo

In March 1997 the Mexican pop/rock outfit Jumbo came together when ex-Blueswagen keyboardist Eddie González and bassist Charly Pornet launched the project. Guitarist Jorge Tamez Chapa, known professionally as Flip Fantastic, singer/guitarist Alejandro Clemente Castillo, and drummer Enrique González Peláez, who performs under the name Bugs Wako, soon rounded out the roster. After committing several original compositions to tape, the band secured a deal with BMG in November 1997. Their first album, Restaurant, reached stores in 1999. The musicians also supplied a cover of “Lo Dudo” for a tribute collection dedicated to Latin star José José. D.D. y Ponle Play appeared two years later.
