Mari Kimura

As a violinist and composer from Japan, Mari Kimura engages deeply with both contemporary classical compositions and spontaneous musical creation. Appearances alongside the Tokyo Philharmonic and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra mark her classical endeavors, while she has also introduced pieces from composers such as Jean-Claude Risset and Toshi Ichiyanagi for the first time. Festivals dedicated to improvised music, including Musique Action and FIMAV, have featured her talents, and her collaborations with artists like Henry Kaiser and Robert Dick appear on releases from Victo and Random Acoustics.
